I've started this thread to see if anyone else once they get SMGII has any problems with it. they only "problem" that I've come across so far is a display issue.
When you are in Sequential mode the display lists it as Auto mode, and when it Auto mode it lists it as Sequential mode.. which clearly is wrong.. although so far no problems with the gearbox itself.

I am very interested to hear any issues you encounter. I have been thinking about switching to SMG but have been alittle scared about early production issues.
OT: I have read that the Toyota MR2 Spider will have a sequential manual transmission for 2002. I really think that SMG's will replace all manuals, and maybe even autos, within 5 years.

No problems on my side. BTW, on the display issue, this is technically not wrong. The arrows show you what you will get if you push the shifter in that direction. If you push it to the left, you will get Neutral. If you push it up, you will go down a gear. If you push it down, you will go up a gear. If you push it to the left and up, you will get reverse.
Now here's the important part. If you push it to the right when you are in sequential, it will give you automatic - hence it shows "A". If you push it to the right when you are in automatic, you will get sequential - hence it shows an "S".
The "S" or "A" is not meant to show you what mode you are in any more than the "N" on the display is supposed to tell you that you are in Neutral.
Hope that helps.
