What year did BMW build the E46 M3 in yellow. I'm not talking about Phoenix Yellow. This would be more of a banana yellow. I've never seen one before. One passed me this afternoon going south on Rt 28 just south of the Dulles exit in VA. Didn't look too bad.

Holy crap, I must have saw the same one this morning. I was going east on 50 and he was going west. It was much more pale than the Phoenix Yellow. It was my first time seeing it and I had to do a double take.

The only standard yellow offered on the E46 M3 was Pheonix.

Dakkar (individual) was probably what you saw...

With the exception of Interlagos Blue, here are all the standard colors ever offered for the E46 M3:

It must have been a Dakar Yellow II special order paint job part of the BMW Individual program. My father has one on his e46 M3. The option, at least use too, cost $2000 and not all dealers realize that you can special order some paint jobs. I also have a friend that did this for blue from the e36 M3 and it looks extremely sharp too.
