Street Racing threads are NOT allowed

M3Forum does not condone or allow any street racing threads and/or videos. Any such post will be removed immediately and the poster given either a warning or infraction depending on severity and repeat of offense. Street racing is considered an illegal activity so it is also illegal to post or illicit others in street racing. Street racing is generally a dangerous activity that costs lives and any type of racing should be strictly confined to professional or official events and tracks.

- Racing at official 1/4 | 1/8 mile tracks and discussion of 1/4 | 1/8 mile times at official tracks.
- Racing on closed course tracks (i.e. Buttonwillow, Laguna Seca, etc) and discussion of relative lap times or trap speeds.

Not Allowed
- Drag racing on public streets
- highway racing on public streets

As a rule of thumb, if the participants would be arrested if they were caught, the video / thread isn't allowed.

Forum Guidelines

Dear members,

In order to make this forum a better place for all to enjoy we have made a few rule changes. Most of you are familiar with our zero tolerance policy on personal attacks and it seems to be a success. We are now going to implement a few new rules to keep the serious side of the forum on track. We need to separate the serious sections from the play section because childish behavior in the general forums has a way of ending most serious discussions and turning off those who come here only to discuss technical matters.

We can no longer allow foul language, post whoring, idle banter, thread hijacking or any other sort of playing around that some of you have gotten use to doing lately. If you keep that sort of stuff in the OT section, we will not have any problems but in the general forum, it can earn you a strike or eventually lead to you being banned from the forum. The same 3-strike rule will apply to these new rules.

We also ask all of you to review the signature rules and try to limit your avatar and signature to car related matters. If you still wish to use the female form, then make sure they are in good taste and have their clothes on. Furthermore I would like to remind everyone that racial/gender slurs and nudity are not allowed on this forum and they can earn you an immediate restriction. This applies to all sections of the forum.

Leaders and members of other community websites and forums are also welcome to participate on the message board and use its many features with full privileges. However, as with non-supporting vendors, we also request that you not advertise or promote your board in any way.

Finally; posting of private messages, either via the forum (PM's) or through another private medium (Email/Instant messages), from another member is not something we like to see on this forum. They are private and should be kept as such unless you need it as proof of a misrepresented purchase and then only with the approval of one of the moderators.

Suggestions of, threats of, or encouraging others to become violent, or perform violent or illegal actions will be grounds for a General Nuisance Infraction. If severe enough at the moderator's discretion, this action can be grounds for banning from the M3Forum.

New Addition: We prefer that when posting a new thread with any sort of links, please explain what others will find when they click that link. At times, links are not very obvious and may be NWS.

Thank you.

Carfax Threads are not permitted

Carfax's legal department contacted us and requested us to close down any threads that offer free carfax reports. The reasoning behind this is as follows:

1) The threads violate Carfax's TOS.
CARFAX CUSTOMER AGREEMENT: I agree to pay a one-time charge of $24.99 (USD), plus applicable sales tax, according to my card issuer agreement. This 30 day Unlimited CARFAX Reports Plan is valid for 30 days from the date the first report is run, and is intended for my personal use only. Commercial use, resale and redistribution of CARFAX Reports is strictly prohibited and may lead to deactivation of my account and the imposition of additional charges for CARFAX Reports. I agree that my CARFAX Report purchase shall be governed by all the Terms and Conditions of use of the CARFAX Web Site.
2) People who sell/give out carfax reports for free cost Carfax hundreds of thousands of dollars in lost revenue each year.

All carfax threads will be trashed immediately and without warning. Repeated attempts to create multiple carfax threads may lead to punishment.

***Sponsor Rules***

Sponsors Rules:
All sponsors are subject to the following rules.

[Amended] 1. Please limit “For Sale” threads to the Sponsors Forum and For Sale/Wanted Forum. Any such threads posted in other forums will be moved/deleted. * Although the staff is somewhat lax about this particular rule, we would still prefer that the majority of your For Sale threads remain in the Sponsors Forum or the Parts For Sale / Wanted forum. *

2. No duplicate group buys or jumping in on existing group buys, including private messaging group buy participants with separate offers.

3. Please do not post in threads discussing other vendors. In light of the obvious bias of each vendor, their participation in discussion of other vendors would be of little value.

4. No duplicate identities or “surrogates”. All representations made by and on behalf of a sponsor must be posted by the username identified as the sponsoring vendor rep. Any sponsor found to be using duplicate identities or “surrogates” is subject to immediate termination of sponsorship and deletion of all threads/posts made by or on behalf of the vendor.

5. There may be instances where a member will have issues/problems/complaints with a sponsor and/or their product(s). Please handle all such communications via PM’s, or more preferably, offsite..

6. We must ask that you do not engage in spamming, product promotion or direct marketing via the PM system.

[NEW] 7. Please do not excessively bump your for sale threads. This is especially important inside the primary sections of the board; e.g., the E46 section, E36 section... etc. Inside these sections, please let your threads run their natural course and only respond to direct questions. Please limit thread bumps inside the sponsor section and Parts For Sale / Wanted to an absolute maximum of once a day. Excessive bumping leads to many complaints and will quickly label you as an annoyance to the community -- read: Spammer. Excessively bumped threads will be removed.

Non-Sponsor Rules:

Non-sponsoring vendors are free to participate in our community with the following conditions:

1. If you are selling or promoting items and/or services, you are a vendor under our community rules. Our community vendor rules are here to not only help pay for the site, but also to maintain control over the types of goods offered for sale to our members.

2. As a non-sponsoring vendor, we must ask that you do not promote/advertise/offer for sale any good or services or extend any discounts via any M3Forum web functions, including username, avatar, signature, private messages, and forum/gallery postings. All violators are subject to immediate banning and deletion of user account.

3. Should you wish to become a M3Forum sponsoring vendor, please click here.

Member Rules:
All members are subject to the following rule in their dealings with a sponsor/vendor.

1. Please limit discussion of vendors and sponsors to merits of their products and/or services. This means no angry attacks, accusations, or damaging posts that serve no purpose other than their intent to do harm to a particular vendor. There may be instances where you will have issues/problems/complaints with a sponsor and/or their product(s). Please handle all such communications via PM’s, or offsite.

Additionally, if you are a member who has any affiliation with a vendor (eg. Being sponsored by them), please state such affiliation before your participation in any thread involving the vendor. Failure to disclose any hidden affiliations will result in banning of user account.

If there are unresolved issues with a particular vendor from a past transaction, please handle such matters in private and offsite. Such threads inevitably degenerate into angry arguments which serve no purpose.

Our goal is to allow open discussion that is constructive and beneficial to all members. Toward that end, we request that everyone involved conduct themselves in a professional manner.
If you encounter any problems with the forums, please hit me up on email or PM. Thanks for being a member of!
